About Yisroel

I’m Yisroel.
You can call me Izzy.

For fifteen years, I’ve been exploring human behavior, spirituality, religion, and related disciplines.

I believe in being pragmatic. I’m not interested in an approach because it is fashionable, impressively spiritual, or sexy. I want to know whether it helps. The tools I offer are the ones I believe are most effective. Inner work should be in service of living. I want to help you feel good and live your life fully.

I am a certified life coach.

The approach

Four frameworks
inform my work.

Together, these frameworks offer powerful tools to work through limiting beliefs, find the motivation to change, and discover who you truly are.

01

Personal biography

The story of your life holds tremendous power. Together, we’ll explore the experiences that shaped you and create a written biography—one that helps you understand where you’ve been and see your life with greater clarity and compassion.

02

Personality frameworks

Myers–Briggs and other frameworks can give us useful language for what energizes you, what drains you, and where you may be fighting your nature instead of working with it.

03

Cognitive-behavioral tools

I value CBT-informed tools because they are concrete and testable. Life is a kind of laboratory: we form a hypothesis, take an intelligent risk, see what happens, and let reality revise the story.

04

Schema-informed work

Schemas are deeply rooted maps of reality, often formed early, that shape what we expect from ourselves, other people, and the world. My work is schema-informed: we notice where those maps still help, where they distort the present, and whether they can be revised.

The next step

We all need encouragement sometimes to take the next step. I’m here to stand beside you as you take it. You’re more capable than you think.

Practical details

FAQ.

Is this therapy?

This work can go deep, but it is coaching, not psychotherapy. It does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions and is not a substitute for psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or crisis support.

What can we work on?

Common themes include making that next big decision, deepening your inner work, working through difficult emotions, increasing confidence, and finding clarity and direction. We can work on pretty much anything though, and I enjoy sitting and schmoozing about all things related to personal growth.

How many sessions will I need?

Some people come with one defined question; others want an ongoing thinking partnership. We’ll name a focus at the beginning and review as we work.
